Brigid Harrington's Bio

Brigid Harrington is a NYC/Chicago-based actress, singer/songwriter and dancer who is enjoying a well-rounded career. Among Brigid's many theatrical credits, is her role starring as "Jane Banks" in Mary Poppins on Broadway. Brigid's voice can be heard on the Disney Channel's hit animated series - Chuggington - as the lead female character Koko, and also in that show's Interactive Toys, DVD's, games, websites, and Apps. On Nickelodeon & Nick Jr., Brigid's speaking and singing voice has been featured on many bumpers for various shows and educational segments.

Brigid plays the supporting role of "Julie" in the feature film Benji The Dove starring Lynn Cohen (Hunger Games) - directed by Kevin Arbouet, and also appeared in the indie film Lullaby as Garrett Hedlund's cousin "Sarah". On television, she played Kelly the cheerleader on the premiere episode of Discovery ID Channel's Momsters: When Moms Go Bad, appeared in the hit FX Channel show Louie, and had a featured guest spot in the award-winning web series Redheads Anonymous starring Ethan Slater (Spongebob). Brigid is also an accomplished commercial actress, appearing in many national TV and radio spots.

Along with Brigid's successful run on Broadway's Mary Poppins, she represented the show in Broadway's Gypsy of the Year competition where she and her castmates won 1st runner up for best stage presentation. Brigid's portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor was one of the most talked about performances, making Playbill's "Most Memorable Moments" by Seth Rudetsky in 2011. Brigid has played Susan Waverly (Irving Berlin's White Christmas) at the historic Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. She also played "Muriel" in Ah, Wilderness!" for the Equity Professional Theatre Company - East Lynne Theater Company - in Cape May, NJ. Brigid and her little sister Shannon performed at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City as part of America's Got Talent (season 5). Brigid has also performed at many other venues, galas and benefits including Joe's Pub, Playwrights Horizons, Broadway Sessions, NJPac, Skyline Theater and more.

At the Bucks County Playhouse, Brigid worked with TV & Broadway Director Lonny Price (Sunset Boulevard, Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill, 2 Broke Girls), playing the female lead in the new musical - Middle School: A Story of Survival, written by Simon Rich (Man Seeking Woman, SNL, and Michael Mitnick (The Giver, Vinyl, Fly By Night). Brigid originated the role of Charlotte in Shanan Estreicher's new musical in development - Once 'Round the Circle, with a recording at Avatar Studios and a developmental production in NYC as part of Emerging Artists Theatre New Works Series.

Brigid has also been cast in several other developmental and staged industry readings including those for the feature film Hedges written by Charlie Zicari - playing the love interest of Evan Roe (Madame Secretary), and opposite Jerry Springer (Chicago), Greg Mullavey (iCarly), Lev Gorn (The Americans), and more as "April Rooney" in the sitcom-in-development, The House Arrest Rooneys, written by Peter Welch. She is also collaborating with Welch on a new project, "Larry & Lucy," being developed in NYC, with a potential Los Angeles production.

Brigid has been the lead and/or principle in several International and National TV and radio commercials for brands such as IKEA, Hasbro, CarMax, Comcast, Time Warner, Twizzlers, and Capital One Bank. Brigid and her sister, Shannon, were featured in a commercial for the hit show America's Got Talent which ran on NBC and Oxygen network to promote the show's 5th season.

Brigid is also a singer/songwriter and guitarist. Her original song, "#IDontDoDrugs" won her the People's Choice online voting award in the statewide songwriting competition, Shout Down Drugs, sponsored by the Partnership for a Drug Free America. She performed her song at NJPAC in Newark.

In her senior year in high school, Brigid created an Independent Study Arts Outreach Program to continue her legacy of volunteerism while combining her love of politics, history and performance. In this outreach program, Brigid creates and performs short sets of songs and narratives, both educating and entertaining children and senior citizens throughout the community.

Brigid is attending the University of Notre Dame, double-majoring in Film/Television/Theater and Political Science, with a minor in Voice. She will be making her Notre Dame performance debut singing with legendary rock star Todd Rundgren and his band in the Play Like A Champion Today concert at Notre Dame's DeBartolo Performing Arts Center.
