Brigid Harrington Stars as Susan Waverly in "White Christmas" at the historic Walnut Street Theatre
Irving Berlin's White Christmas is an American classic and Philadelphia's Walnut Street Theatre is America's most classic Theatre. Put these two together and you have an opportunity any actor would love to be part of.
The role of Susan Waverly seems like it was written specifically for Brigid. A spunky child, wise beyond her years, who catches the show biz bug. All she wants to do is have her chance to perform and when she gets it "Broadway Sue" brings down the house.
That's what Brigid was happy to do five to six times a week...every show!

Brigid had the amazing opportunity to sing her version of the Irving Berlin classic "Let Me Sing, and I'm Happy". Her interpretation of the song had a part - ala Al Jolson - that delighted audiences. To hear such a big voice come from such a little girl, was one of the many highlights of this wonderful musical.
The incredible cast, crew, costuming, sets, songs and dance numbers were capped off with snow! During bows, snow fell at the end of every performance, and Brigid had the time of her life.

The most rewarding and educational part of working at the Walnut is being around the best people in the business. Brigid loved going in every day and being around a friendly and caring staff, the most professional crew, and generous actors.
Brigid was able to grow as an actor working alongside talented performers from Broadway, Philadelphia and Chicago. Every single person she worked with had a positive effect on her, making her time at the Walnut Street Theater an experience she will always treasure.

The historic Walnut Street Theatre: where stars are born

It's only fitting that The Walnut was the last theatre where Brigid worked before she played Broadway. Being the oldest theatre in America, The Walnut has seen actors like George M. Cohan, the Barrymores, Helen Hayes, Katharine Hepburn, Marlon Brando, Audrey Hepburn, Sidney Poitier, and Lauren Bacall, to name but a few. Brigid hopes to return to the Walnut Street Theatre and all her friends in Philadelphia some day soon.
